Westerham Country Townhouse

Interior Decoration by Rebecca Wheelhouse at Leonora Spencer

This home in Westerham in Kent is Grade 2 listed and in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so we decided to aim for an idea of ‘bringing the outside in’. It now brings forth an elegant yet cosy atmosphere based on an earthy colour palette with pops of bright colour.

The dining area is presented as a multi use space. Encompassing the owners love of hosting, the shelving area was added to provide an additional service area next to the picnic bench style table to continue the desired relaxed feel. Multiple coloured chairs and embroidered cushions add a further seating area to the room, allowing the owners to look out to the vista of the incredible area of outstanding natural beauty outside.

The Kitchen has been turned into a galley preparation area, including stunning extra long brass handles and an extra deep worktop to reflect light into a dark area. Hand crafted cabinetry by Burlanes ensures the ancient property is elegantly brought into the contemporary world and is somewhere the homeowner can be proud to entertain guests.

The bedroom evokes the relaxed country feeling, whilst obtaining a luxurious feel with a four poster bed and a neutral colour palette and varying textures. The en suite continues the theme of staying close to nature with deep green paneling and beautiful tiles encompassing the shower.

A deep green snug area is created in the open lounge area to make a visual divide between a large open space.

Rebecca Wheelhouse was deeply inspired by the history and heritage of the location and has created a family home that uniquely blends living and comfort.
